Opioid Dependence

(Addiction to prescription painkillers and heroin) is a treatable medical condition caused by changes in the chemistry of the brain. When you’re opioid dependent, cravings and the need to avoid withdrawal symptoms can be intense and difficult to manage on your own.

Getting the Help You Need

By suppressing withdrawal symptoms and reducing cravings using medication-assisted treatment people with opioid dependence can more easily manage their condition so they can focus on rebuilding their lives.

Managing opioid dependence is not simply a matter of “getting clean” or stopping all drug use. Typically, the changes that cause opioid dependence will not be corrected right away. In fact, those changes can trigger cravings months or even years after you’ve stopped misusing opioids. That’s why ongoing treatment that includes counseling and behavioral therapy is a vital component of treatment plans.

Urban Peaks Rehab takes a multifaceted approach to recovery. Offering individual therapy to develop a deeper understanding of your disorder, and group therapy services in order to give and receive support from others who can understand the challenges you face in recovery.

These therapy services, with medication, and the support of the compassionate staff at Urban Peaks Rehab create a safe, therapeutic atmosphere where recovery begins.

Yes, all patients who are on Medication-Assisted Treatment are required to see a counselor regarding addiction and it’s surrounding issues. Your doctor and counselor will determine the frequency of your counseling sessions based on your individual needs.

Urban Peaks Rehab’s self pay rates are as follows:

First month: $350.00

Second month: $200.00

Every month following: $150.00

* These amounts cover all doctors’ visits,  counseling visits, and all laboratory costs.. It does not cover the cost of the medication.

Each treatment plan at Urban Peaks Rehab  is tailored specifically to the patient. However, we do have a general program guideline.

The first month of our program requires weekly visits with the physician to ensure patients are adjusting to the medication without any adverse side effects. Once your medication and dose are stable you will begin seeing our counselor as well.

The second month of treatment visits become biweekly provided the patient is compliant with the program requirements.

All remaining months the patient will generally be seen once monthly by the physician for medication management, and once by the counselor unless additional visits are requested by the provider or patient.

We currently offer Suboxone, Zubsolv, Subutex, Vivitrol, and Sublocade.

The length of the program is completely based on what the patient is most comfortable with. The physician and the counselor will work simultaneously with the patient to decide a timeline that allows for a slow, but comfortable taper off of the medication.

We do allow children to be brought into the clinic, as long as there is another adult present to watch the child. The reason an additional adult to supervise your child is required is because Colorado law prohibits children from being in the physician’s office for your appointment. If you choose to bring children, you will be required to sign a release of liability. You will also sign a document advising you of the mandatory reporting requirements for our clinic staff.

Appointment times vary based on appointment type. Generally you can plan to spend an hour or less here from start to finish for your appointment.

The initial appointment with the counselor lasts for 60 minutes. Any appointments scheduled after last for 45 minutes.  However, if you feel you need additional time and support with the counselor, we can schedule additional appointments in accordance with ours and your schedule.
